Facebook ad campaign update

k..so it seems ad number one is going a little nuts…we had around 210, 000 impressions with 63 clicks…not bad…..not huge CTR…but for fb that is really good and more importantly, they are all converting into fans of the page.

btw..ad number two with the Week of Style name is sucking ass right now..I will  give it a few more days and then probably get rid of it….

Holy crap, we ended up getting 180,000 impressions yesterday (the 17th) on the first ad.

I also ended up creating another ad to test using different verbiage as well as using the Toronto Week of Style name in the ad.

We’ll see how it hits in conjuction with the other ads.

I’ll keep you posted on the results.

Facebook ad campaign update

I know from my other life as an ad guy at one of the best  and most effective agencies in North America – Bamboo that the success of an adwords type campaign that facebook allows you to run is solely based on the copy you use.

I think that’s why the first ad isn’t really working…

Let me give it another day or so and then figure something out,

it seems the first ad was rejected.I guess FB is the only place on the internet
where grammar and punctuation count.

fckin Facebook …the Solution (sorta)

It seems after a lot of thought (and red wine) a solution has been found.  We are going to create a TWOS group and use it as a jump page to the Official Toronto Week of Style Page.  It seems to be the most effective route while minimizing the bullshit that Facebook can sometimes be.

The reason for the group is because when you invite people to a group, it is as simple as checking a box and sending  the invite…so people with many friends can assist in spreading the word.

Let’s see how it goes..
I have lofty goals…
I wanna reach 10,000+
So please join

So I go to set up a facebook page (as opposed to a group) for TWOS08 and get all excited cause there is so much more stuff I can with it like feed this blog right onto the page.  I get all set up, post all of the photos, the videos, the info all that…Then I go to invite friends and wtf…I have to type people’s names individually.  So if I invite someone like Craigg of Urbanalogy (who has 2000+ friends) or even our own Emeka (who has 1000)…they aren’t going to type them all..no matter how much rum I give them.

so as mentioned…Fckin Facebook
